the beautiful thing about Transformers, to me, is how big and diverse the cast of characters is. i tend to fixate on maybe one or two characters to prioritize in writing ever because they're the most fascinating to me. with transformers? i have sooo many ideas centered on a whole array of them. there's just so much potential for every character that even though i have my favorites, im less inclined to play favoritism in creating.

For reference: about 4 years ago (Holy shit it's been 4 years, covid time is fucked up) I got really into transformers,

it started by just wanting a fidget toy for my desk so I got Kingdom Arcee because I liked her as a kid and I was feeling very #Girl (also cause the only bumblebee was the ww2 buggy that I regret not picking up)

But that toy kinda sucked ass so I got 86 Jazz, followed by Kingdom Optimus because cmon it's the big man himself.

So yeah I figured this was just a hobby now so I gave myself a goal: Complete the main cast of Transformers Prime

Honestly I picked an amazing time to get into toy collecting, Just late enough that I wasn't stuck with siege figures or bad covid QC, but early enough that I got some basic G1 cast before legacy (like genuinely Bulkhead and Arcee in wave 1?? Along with my personal Glup shitto Dragstrip? It was made for me)

It's been a blast, it's so satisfying seeing my cast grow, I love finding old figures at any cons I go to (I got classics Bee and Thrilling 30 springer at my first comic-con and those 2 are amazing)

But that idea of having the complete tfp cast was always in the back of my mind and any casts I completed along the way were fun bonuses (07 movie cast, Devastation autobots, RID 2015 and I don't even like that show)

But now that's just about finished, I don't have literally every character in the show, I'm missing a few one off episode characters that I don't care enough to get (I'm not spending 60 euro on dreadwing again just because he's green, also tfp cliff looks sick but it's bundled with 90 euro worth of toys I don't want (also it's fucking cliffjumper, he'll get a new toy eventually) )

But yeah... Now what?

I still like transformers, there's stuff I'm excited for but there's no long term goal, yknow?

I'm already struggling to justify this to myself as is whenever I put a new toy on display I have an honest to God existential crisis about what I'm doing with my life

(I nearly cried transforming spoiler nemesis prime for this reason) but then a day or 2 passes and it's back to being sick

Idk it's a weird feeling, not bittersweet, more like, yeah okay, that's cool I guess (granted I still haven't taken a photo of them all together so maybe my brain hasn't fully registered that it's happened, we'll see)

Anyways tldr: funny toy robots briefly made me feel alive and that's gone now

I 10000% agree with you that out of the entire family besides Mirabel her parents are the ones that hate/dislike Miranda the most for obvious reasons. I would say the list of people who hate Miranda goes like this

And I thought I might as well flesh out some of the time line so Miranda kidnapped Mirabel at age 8 and experimented on her immediately when they got back to the village it took a week after the experiment for Mirabel to wake up and when she did she stayed with Miranda for two weeks in her house being called Eva the entire time. After that two weeks Miranda sent her to live with Alcina and her Daughters and she lived there with them while her house was being built for about four years. Alcina and the girls were so happy/excited to have her there, Alcina and the girls decorated a room for her and they cleaned up the old playroom and the room that Alcina used to homeschool the girls and had set up a schooling schedule for her (the girls wanted to help Alcina) all before she was even sent to live with them of course Miranda also had a time slot for her schooling it basically went Alcina-Math, art, music and basic social studies Miranda-science(all categories)Daniela- english, Romanian and European history Cassandra- Spanish, German and African history Bela- Greek, Latin and North/South American history. While Mirabel was living there she was absolutely spoiled and doted on as the baby of the family but when she was 12 Miranda made her move into the house that was built for her and made her start doing more Lord tasks (experimenting, going to the church etc.) and she saw less of Alcina and the girls. She completely transforms her section of the village in about 2 years of taking control of it so at 14, she worked long and hard with the villagers in her area going house to house figuring out all the needs of that house and using the money she has access to from Miranda to get them things and because she started putting the money back into the community helping them they in turn were able to have better crop and meat out put which increased the areas income as well after seeing how well her area was and how terrible the other Lords areas were Mirabel talked to Miranda about making the other Lords do the same but Miranda told her outright no stating that way the other Lords do with their free time is none of her business and that as long as they continue to do the experiments like she asks she won't bother them with the care of the villagers so long as they weren't killing too many. So Mirabel, wanting to help the villagers in the other areas, created the orphanage but it's not just an orphanage it's also a school that way the villagers have access to education freely and can try and do better that way. Mirabel gets her family back at 16 and they live with her two months into them living with her the interrupted dinner with Miranda happens and two months after that the family is experimented on three months after the experiments they meet the Dimitrescu family for dinner a month after that they meet Karl when he burst into the house anger at Mirabel because a 16 year old boy he was hoping to have work in his factory was going to her school instead, they meet Monroe two months after Karl when Miranda brought him over to discuss some experiment over with him and Mirabel, they meet Donna and Angie last four months after that Donna had decided to go over to Mirabel's to go over their doll/clothes ideas, they usually do it over at her house because she doesn't like to leave the house very often.

But like. Can Mirabel catch a break. She was snatched away from her family and didn't see them for what, 9 years??? I mean jeez, let her BREATH. And sure, she had a substitute family, but let's be real, they aren't exactly the best when it comes to raising or caring for an emotionally and mentally vulnerable child. And then Mother Miranda, with her jealousy and wanting Miranda to be Eva like??? What is WRONG with her 😭😭 in what world is that ok??

And then at 12, literally a child, not even a teenager, she was dropped into a pseudo-Casita that, from what I'm assuming, wasn't alive yet. And even if it was. That doesn't change the fact that she was a child left to run a village and be made to do all these terrible things. And then attend meetings and services along side it 🌚 and being Miranda's favorite didn't change a DAMN thing, she's still treated pretty badly, like face the facts

AND?? WHEN SHE GOT HER FAMILY BACK?? 4 months later she was forced to experiment on them, against her and their will. And Lord knows that if she refused, Miranda would've done something even worse than death 🤠 AND YOU KNOW?? She still manages to be a better leader among the other 4.

i just realized i'd never talked about this, thanks to someone else asking, but if anyone's wondering how trip & era handle their completely different lifespans:

Well to start, as we all know Trip fucking died in OFB and was brought back to life by Erakhos' sacred dragon magic. This actually ended up extending his lifespan by about 5 decades, making his life expectancy ehhh 140 or so. Sadly this does mean Trip outlives his family & friends.

On the other end, Era's life expectancy actually got shortened by a good few centuries, but... That isn't anywhere near enough to grow old with Trip. Lifespans end up being something they discuss at times.

What they ended up deciding to do is, once Trip is ready (basically once he's elderly) or nearly dying or some work-related injury (idk i haven't thought far enough to know what trip's final moments will be), the two will become the Singularity one more time and stay that way.

So... if you want to look at it one way, Trip and Era "die" together by permanently transforming into a form that is its own person, losing their "selves". On the other hand they continue to "live" by being the Soul and Core that form the person who lives as a result of their love.

Though, they can never split from the form. Trip, and by extension the Singularity, will die if they're ever untransformed for any reason.

The only other catch is that the Singularity is very weak, since they're not a battle version, and one person who formed them was dying at the time. They're the equivalent of a very strong human, at best. But that's fine. I think the Singularity (who I've considered naming Lyric or some other musical term) would love to live a calm life.

Funny how so much of Era's life was dictated by strength and weakness and then he just goes and lives his happiest life by doing things that would be considered "weak" by the person who taught him to think that way GRAGHHHHHHHH I LOVE HIM RAHHHH RAHHHH RAHHHHHH

with books i'm always always going to reach for dracula and frankenstein. the latter is more obvious but i think with dracula it's just such a rich book and i could go on and on about it forever. there's this bit in the book (sorry to totally mansplain if you've already read it) where one of the characters, mina, is burned by the cross after being bitten by dracula. she's not even a vampire yet, and iirc she's just in the beginning stages where she's falling ill and beginning to transform (but eventually comes back from it). and it just makes you think like. this awful thing has happened to her against her will, and my memory is foggy but there's such a sexual nature to the entire book and vampirism as well, it's quite violating as well – the fact that she's inherently tainted now is so... !!!! anyway. i think he would devour this book and i think he'd love to pick it apart

also i think. we have always lived in the castle. i think i just always think of gothic fiction when i think of jason because the genre is so rich.

re movies and shows idk if this is canon or what but i think he watches period dramas. i don't have any explanation for this. even outside of austenian shows and adaptations i think period dramas are so interesting and i feel like they portray human struggles and lives so interestingly, and also i think it's a safer way of reminiscing that hurts less. i like to imagine that when he was living at the manor, he and alf used to catch a few minutes of whatever old show was running or rerunning at the time <33 so i think any newer shows are like a way of calling back to that time in a way that's in his control.

DAISY ACTUALLY MADE LIKE SMALL BENTO BOXES AS A WAY TO SHOW HOW MUCH SHE APPRECIATED RUGGIE

After they both started having crushes on each other most of the advances came from Ruggie, bc I saw somewhere that spotted make hyenas are very submissive and usually try to like win the females affection being this way (DON'T QUOTE BE ON THAT THO), so I thought Rugs would be the type to not say what he feels, especially because he's self conscious about his background and stuff, so he would do stuff like seeking Daisy's presence, carrying stuff for her, sharing his food ESPECIALLY if it was a day where they were having pumpkin desserts in the cafeteria, he always gave them to Daisy because he wanted to win her affections without needing to say anything

But Daisy was going crazy bc she didn't know if Rugs was actually interested in her or if she was overthinking it bc they did become really good friends, so she retributed his kindness by making "way too much food for her and Grim to eat" and "I happen to be here right now so I might as well help you with Leona's laundry", stuff like that!!

Eventually we all know what happens Daisy asks Ruggie on a date bc if she didn't she would go insane overthinking stuff
